Art gallery and printing workshop

We went to see an exhibition on print making in MK Gallery and one of the exhibitors involved, Sue Baker-Kenton ran a workshop. We got to choose from a range of printed sheets and block printed on top of them.

This was fun. On the ceiling there was a mirror image of the picture on the table. This was to show that in block printing, mirror images are printed so you really have to think about your picture especially if it includes writing. 

This was on stone.

Mum liked these tree prints. They were called Labyrinth.

 We put paint onto a sheet of perspex.

Then we lay that underneath our choosen printed paper and drew on top, taking care not to touch it with our hands in any other way or more paint would go on the paper than extected.

We decorated some of our prints with tissue paper and other things too.

Afterwards, got a tour around the main art gallery which had an exhibtion on treasures divided up into different rooms on portraits, sea and landscape.  The walls were painted red, blue and green for the different subjects. http://www.mkgallery.org/exhibitions/treasures_in_mk/

Molly went a little crazy

A dog we look after called Molly, heard a sound from my computer that she did not like. She ran to me, jumped up and shivered.She is a little heavy so I coudn't breathe.

My new drama

Aren is one of my best friends to me, and we hadn't met for years,so when I heard she was going, I was so happy.

She is wearing my old top that I did not like she looks pretty in it.We were doing a dancing competition but she had to go and I had cubs.(Making Valentines Crafts).

Arts and Crafts

This is paint n peel. The icecream was my best I think. What do you think?

 My Sister Freya didn't want to do any art or crafts and when I got her to she loved it. However she only did 3 things.

I finished her.Yay!!!. It was fun, but really hard. The pack told us to put on black beads as eyes but we did something better.Now she reminds me of Coraline.

Arts,crafts and more

We've been busy using some of our Christmas presents. One of them was a face painting kit that I got.

 I also got this doll kit which I'm half way through. It's quite hard but really fun to make.

 Here I am sewing up a leg!

 We've also been baking lots of cakes - yes, we got lots of cake decorating stuff for Christmas too!















This is paint and peel. You paint an image on plastic,
when it drys you peel it off and put it on a window.

 This is scraper foil. I have a few sets of this.

 We also made truffles - yummy!

Chemisty

Today we did loads of experiments using our Chemistry set.  I like the experiments that fizz best!

Planes

My Dad went to India yesterday and we tracked his route on the computer.

The fastest the plane went was 663.99 mph and the highest it went was 35000ft.
The plane went from UK, across Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan into India. 

Certificates!

I have gone crazy on my literacy and numeracy computer programmes in the last 3 days. Look at all the certificates I got!

Paradise Wildlife Park

I was so excited when I heard I was going to the zoo. I love all the cute animals. The first thing I did was see the white lions which were amazing but they were feeding it and I didn't like seeing the flesh they eat. Our family favourite's were the Red Pandas. They don't look like panda's I know of, but they eat bamboo so are pandas.

There are no White Lions living in the wild any more.The White Lions have been extinct from the wild since 1994 as they had been hunted a lot.

Cheetah's are the fastest land mammals which can run at 70mph so we felt very sorry for them in a cage which they clearly couldn't run fast in.

These Red Pandas looked so cute and cuddly but the keeper said they are actually very vicious.

Meerkats look so funny to me.

White tigers are rarely found in the wild anymore.

Movie making

My Dad had model's of Dr Who people and Darleks. He also had a model of a World War II scene he made as a child. We decided it would be fun to make a fun episode of Dr Who using them all.
