June - Wk 4 ... Conquer Maths and a TV celeb!

AHHHHHHHHHH! On Monday, guess what..... I have to do 5 hours of sport for 4 weeks to gain 2 awards. The first one was all about football and I really hurt my knee.We were split into groups, then into teams and practised against each other, boys against girls.  We learnt PACE which stands for participants, area, communicate, equipment and concentrates on two of these for the first half of the day and the other two for the rest of the day.

We also went swimming as usual and Niamh, Freya's friend joined us.

On Wednesday  I went to cubs and did lot's of sport's such as rugby, running races, skipping races and more but at the end we did a 1000 meter run.

I finished Conquer Maths year 5 and I've only been doing it for 6 months. Yey!

As you know if you've read my other posts, we have  an allotment and we grow lot's of fruit like strawberries so we made them into juice as we were given a juicer!  However, you don't get a lot of juice from loads of fruit and there is a lot of wastage so my Mum wasn't very impressed with it.
I made banana bread. It was very fun to make and it was delicious.

I continued with my shell and natural wonders of the world project. Here is just one of them.

Yesterday afternoon, E and I, went to wrest park and we met Paul Martin from a programme called Flog it. We also got his autograph. We took some objects to be identified and find out how much they were worth, but there was a 4 hour wait so we didn't bother.

I love loom bands but it is so hard with the board and mine barely came out right, so I sort off gave up. Luckily, shortly after I gave up, I was taught a cool technique with my fingers from my best friend. Now I can make a bracelet in 3 mins.

I have really wanted to start gym again and when I went to cubs sport day, I saw a gym on the way there.  I tried it out the next day and it was brilliant. I did it with my sister and it turns out she is the next level up (which we'd guessed) but it was perfect for me. I also made a friend. Hopefully we will start it in September.

June - Wk 3 ... Crafts and growing things

My sister and I started knitting. I always thought that knitting was boring, but it is really fun. I was really bad at first, so my Mum had to keep on undoing it for me.

I am sure you've all heard of loom bands. They are so cool. I have had quite
a few bracelets made from them .I finally got my own set. Yey!  Sorry I look grumpy in the photo but I was tired.

I am doing a project on the natural objects of our world that I have. It's really great as I am looking each one up and finding interesting facts about them. The best one is the sea urchin which is a complete shell.
I have been to a lot of drama groups but I like this one the best and I get an assessment. This is it! I am so proud. :-)

Guess what.... My big sister has a boyfriend. OOOOOO!  I do a lot of singing "E & R, sitting in a tree, ...." which annoys her a lot! He he.

Most weeks, we meet good friends here and then go swimming. I didn't enjoy it much this time.  :-(
I got this really cool poster with worksheets on the back, on Madagascar the Movie and country. I finally got round to working on it and doing other work on the country.
This is what I picked on Monday. We get a similar amount from our garden (raspberries) and allotment (strawberries) most days at the moment.
This is a yummy pudding I made with some of the fruit.
Our sweetcorn.
Our courgettes
Our raspberries
Our gooseberries
our celery - which needs planting out!
Our peas
Our tomatoes
Look at the jackets that my best friend and I fabric painted. They are going to be our uniform for our web show that we are going to make.

June - Wk 2 ....Projects, home stuff and crafts

My best friend E and I did a water park  together. It was so cool we had a foot bath, sprinklers, water gun fights and water activities. The next time we see each other, over at my house, we are going to make a you tube acount and do cool stuff on it.Yay!

We went to our allotment and planted some seedlings. They were leeks, sprouts and broccoli. We had to net the spouts and broccoli to protect them from cabbage white butterfly. We also netted the strawberries to protect them from the birds.

We are loving having fresh raspberries and strawberries from our garden every day. I grew them with my mum quite along time ago. We eat them all so they  must grow quickly over night!
This is me making flapjacks. They are just so fun to make.
Just checking it's alright to be eaten. Yep, it's good .

This is a mosaic I have been working on for a long time.  It has a key rind holder, mirror and a holder for hair stuff.  As my Mum is a glass artist,I used some of her spare bit's for the mosaic.
The second part of making mosaic is so sticky.  All my fingers were covered!

I  wrote my name on a piece of slate using stensils. I also did some hearts. We are going to decorate it more and hang it up.

My mum dog sits dogs for a few friends and we help walk them. My favourite is probably Luna.Well out of the dog's we dog sit Maisie and Bailey are my favourite. i.e. our dogs!

After that we had chips and drank tango-apple
It's not all fun fun fun though. I have been working especially hard on maths this week, reading loads and I'm doing a project on shells and some sea creatures. Look at all the specimens we have!

Today, my big sister finishes her exams so she finishes school today!

June - Wk 1 ... MK Gallery Arts Award and Shefford Fete

In case you are interested, I've been adding some more photos to my other posts so pop back and have a look!

This month started with a visit to MK Gallery for an arts award meeting to show some of my art work. I took my Salvador Dali project and my scraper foil pictures. Someone else took a mosaic they had done from bright coloured felt so we talked about the mosaics we had seen in Italy.  We also made record players from boxes, paper, a pin and a record.

I went to my friend K's house for a sleepover. She was busy in the day so I didn't get there until 8pm and I stayed the whole of the next day until 9pm. We went to Shefford fete where I got some craft things, folders and an animal pillow which I won on a raffle.  We watch K perform something from her drama group in Shefford.

On Tuesday, I went with L, T, E and others to Snakes and Ladders in Dunstable. We were there 5 hours!

This Saturday I also went out with my friend H to a Chinese restaurant and we sat on our own table while her parents sat on their own one. It was great fun and delicious food. It was a buffet so we helped ourselves.

Our plants are coming along well although the weeds in our allotment are growing well too! Here is a mushroom that we grew although the pack for growing it was £1 so unless some more grow, that was a very expensive mushroom!
We also had great fun taking all our 2p's and 1ps to be changed into larger coins. There is a machine that does it but it is very loud as it swallows up all the pennies. Look how much we had though!

We've been going swimming and to Wrest Park, weekly recently. We go with T, L, E and K. It is really fun but last time I did it, I lost my nose clip.

At academy my performing arts group we learnt that our next work is Little shop of Horrors. I can't wait to get the script. There's  man eating plants in it!
