Aug - Wk 2 Devon holiday with the Field Studies Council

After 7.5 hours in the car, we finally got to the Slapton Sands field studies centre. Luckily they saved us our fish and chip tea.
On the first day we went to Dartmoor and climbed up Hound Tor.We climbed a bit of the way, but not all of it.There were barely any trees  because of it being on a windy slope. I made it to the top before my family. It is a lovely view.

After Hound Tor, we went to an Medieval village.

My sister taught me how to draw.

We got given an egg and we had to protect it for when we dropped it from a height and ours survived .Yay!

On the next day we went to the National Aquarium. Some of the fish creeped me out. A lot of them were trying to camouflage themselves, and one was trying to escape.A couple buried themselves and there were some baby sharks. They there so cute. Then we saw star fish, which I love, and sea horses which are cute.

After that we saw the big tank! I drew it and then the fivers came into the tank.We learned how to do sign language.

We went to look around Dartmouth and looked at the shops and the harbour. We got ice-cream and the shop people filled are cone with fudge for free.I had a bubblegum one and my tongue went blue.

On the first day I made a diary to write in every day . We used cardboard, materials, pens and paper.

On the right is the building where we slept, and on the left is the building where we played table tennis a lot.

On the way to the river we passed an abandoned farm house.

This is me in the farm house. It is amazing to think people  used to live here but to have a farmhouse.Wow!

Here we are going crabbing. It was really scary with a big drop and no railing. We didn't catch any.

Choo choo! Steam train time today! This was a really special day. We went on the steam train, a boat and an open top bus.

This is us having blackberries. We went to a light house, then walked about 5 miles back, stopping for blackberries on the way.

Here's me hiding from Freya in the woodlands.

We went rock pooling and it rained. We caught 15 crabs, but one was the red eyed crab. It ate some of the others and in the end we ended up with only 8 crabs.
